Milestone; 100% SWR
Just hit a nice low milestone the other day and I'm feeling good. I started about 4 years ago with under €20k of salary and have been pumping most of my free cash flow into educational courses to boost my income. In the last 24 I've managed to do some career magic and had some lucky breaks moving ro...

Re: Life Insurance
I also think life insurance is a waste of money but if you have debt you really need it and if you have dependents and nothing to leave them you really should have it too...

Would ERE die if it ever caught on?
While I absolutely love ERE for myself, it's a selfish love. All apologies to Jacob for this, but I really see ERE as a zero-sum game in the short term; if it were universally adopted it could solve a lot of ecological problems and eventually raise happiness, but I think the transition would be she...

Re: Make $91 million in one day, hire an unpaid intern anoth
@Tyler9000 That makes much more sense.
The only way I can see it not being too much of a problem is that ERE is a tiny group, probably much more concern about upper middle class and upper class people doing the same.

Re: Make $91 million in one day, hire an unpaid intern anoth
This kind of thing really pisses me off. I'm not sure about other countries but here in Ireland the amount of "internships" have exploded. Basically employers trying to get away without paying a dime for full time staff. I regularly have arguments with people over this. They say you should...

I saw it too.
Scary stuff that they basically say you shouldn't be able to get by without having a second job.
I know in the U.S. it's not irregular for somebody to have 2 jobs but from a European perspective it just seems nuts!
ERE aside, when do you get to live?
