Re: ERE City (US)
I've never been to/through Madras even though I've lived in Oregon my entire life! I really appreciate the access to nature/wide open space and lower housing prices in Madras, I forget that towns in Oregon can be cheaper than the 2 places I've mostly lived, Eugene and Ashland (average houses sell a...

Nevermind, I don't want to be argumentative here. It's a waste of time.
Probably just not the right tribe of people for me. That's all.

Re: Nobody Talks About It - Stocks Don't Beat Inflation
Lets break this down nicely. There is no grand conspiracy here. Just lots of maths and one single abstracted number that doesn't do any of the complicated details justice. You can understand why the big number is 4%, and not much higher, even though food costs numbers can be much higher. It is fine...

Re: Nobody Talks About It - Stocks Don't Beat Inflation
Inflation has not always been 10%. no it hasn't always been.... I'm saying it is now.... Every time my girlfriend and I go to the grocery store, most items cost more .... There is no way in hell that inflation is around 4% right now like Jerome Powell and the Fed says. I don't see that in every day...

Nobody Talks About It - Stocks Don't Beat Inflation
Why does hardly anyone ever talk about this basic fact? The stock market hardly ever beats REAL inflation on REAL products and services we use every day. 8% returns in the stock market do not beat real inflation, which is at least 10% per year. Is this the Elephant in the Room that people are Censor...

Re: Crypto and ERE?
yes, we know Gary Gensler is a liar who was in bed with Sam BankmanFraud who visited his SEC office on a regular basis. the SEC and US government is trying to scare people away from crypto. It won't work in the long run. The cat is out of the bag. Too many countries are supporting crypto buying/sell...

@loutfard, I have , yes....they are "ok". @macg, yes, let me know if you find good minimalist editor. Like , how can we do a quick spell check, but also make sure our HTML tags are good to go? I hate how bloated VS Code is.... I'm seriously thinking of just using BBedit or Notepad. I love ...

More reason to diversify your BTC or crypto into different wallets so one wallet doesn't look too big just for extra possible protection.

Re: Setting up a website - ERE style
thanks everyone for the suggestions. Yes, I use sftp. Yeah, a compare tool like that might work if I can quickly select new files on the right side to compare to my "good template" on the left side. Then, I could just flip through all the pages on the site. Not a big site yet... Yes, right...

Re: Setting up a website - ERE style
@tylerrr, aren't you describing CSS? Maybe I've misunderstood the question. Yes, I'm doing that currently.... I have html files, a css file, some JS files for a few scripts that I wrote. That's all. But....I'm saying sometimes I'm running into problems where I need to update a Template and then I n...

Re: Crypto and ERE?
Yes, I see the advantage of gold and silver in small amounts....The problem is, how do you transport one million of gold through an airport without being detected? This is one of the big qualities BTC proponents mention...That you can go anywhere in the world with a memorized 12 word seed phrase in ...

Re: Crypto and ERE?
Just the fact that someone/country/bank cannot confiscate my Bitcoin or crypto unless they get my seedphrase is a Huge use case. the Canadian government froze bank accounts of people who were donating to Truckers during the protests. Bank accounts in Lebanon, Argentina, etc. have repeatedly been fro...

Re: Setting up a website - ERE style
I simply hardcode my site with VS code as an editor.... But VS Code is too bloated for me, anyone have a better option that is more simple? Then, I simply FTP my html pages up the webhost using FileZilla... My main problem at this point is trying to devise a TEMPLATE system that stays consistent tha...

Minimalist Web Site Building?
I've been a Front End developer on/off for years. I hate dealing with CMS platforms like WordPress most of the time. Does anyone here have a SYSTEM or TOOL they find the easiest to just publish pages on your personal/business website? I do have a HTML/CSS site that I code using VS code for my editor...

Re: Crypto and ERE?
I would draw the opposite conclusion because this is saying that the market price of BTC is set by a "very, very" shallow trading book. It would not take much trading flow to significantly move the price up or down which means that the relationship between price and value is not very robu...

I guess he means that common sentiment is usually inversely correlated with future returns. In topic I own zero crypto and don’t plan to buy any going forward. It’s been around for a relatively long time and still don’t understand the use case, plus I don’t like the whole “consumes the same amount ...
