Crypto and ERE?
Hey everyone, I haven't posted here in a long time.... Have any of you changed your Investment strategy to include Bitcoin or other crypto? I worry that typical stock market returns of 8% wont' even keep up with inflation in the future? Bonds are so unstable with the massive printing of money by USA...

Re: Is reading a waste of time?
Reading most books is a waste of time. The same for youtube videos. The number of people who have good, original ideas is vastly smaller than the number of people who want to live off of producing content. Bingo.....It's almost always a rehash of something old and just trying to make money..... I c...

Haven’t calculated in a while but I’m still working and accumulating. I’m in a perpetual state of being around 5%.

Re: Investments Trade Log
Sold some $5.00 Puts on SOFI on margin about a month out (with the aim to close out at 50%). Collected a nice premium. I've not sold short puts for a long while but I feel like things are getting close to bottom for this stock. I watch this stock quite religiously so I believe I've a better feel on...

Re: USA ERE Locations
I am pretty happy where I live now and plan to stay here, but still I often dream about moving to other places. There are conflicts between my lifestyle dreams and my housing selection criteria. I dream of a remote tiny house off-grid homestead on the edge of a forest somewhere, but still value bei...

Re: A Mop?
the best mop is the israeli mop which is a floor squeegee with a mop cloth. those mop cloths are hard to find in the usa however. in any case, those mops are generally paired with water buckets you just throw on the floor, which is tile over a concrete base: the floor has a drain! so you squeegee a...

A Mop?
Anyone have an opinion on the best all around mop I should buy to mop my wood floors? I'm going to use water and vinegar to mop the floors after sweeping.
I'm not sure if I should buy one of those typical mops in Walgreens or get something that lasts longer?
Anyone got an opinion?

20 Digit Mailing Code?
I want to stop receiving mutual fund reports in the physical mail.
How the heck do you find this mysterious 20 digit mailing code they are asking for? I cannot find it anywhere?? I've looked at two pieces of my incoming mail and don't see it anywhere....
https://fundreports.com
thanks

Re: How to Manage Junk Mail?
thanks everyone.....
Depending on the price, the service I listed is very tempting.....They shred everything for you and over time you just receive what you want!!
I read somewhere once where the average human spends over a year of their life going through junk mail?

How to Manage Junk Mail?
Looking for advice.... I'm sick of going through junk mail(the physical kind in your physical mailbox) and getting rid of most of it.... I've tried services that are supposed to get rid of credit card mailings, etc...didn't work well. Do you use any service? How do you eliminate it? I know there are...

Re: Who Here Uses DRIPs?
DRIPs are a tax mess when selling in taxable because of needing to keep track of the cost basis. This depends on your setup: FIFO, LIFO, averaging, etc. It's relatively easy if you're dumping your entire position---but you might not want to do that. Otherwise, you need to determine which shares are...

Re: Who Here Uses DRIPs?
I like them in dividend growth situations, such as Fortis (utilities) or CIBC bank (sorry for Canadian examples) to minimize fees and grow the position over time. I don't like them in REITs or a similar, high-yield, investing for income stock. I don't see as much of a benefit here as you tend to tr...

Who Here Uses DRIPs?
Anyone here utilize DRIPs? I'm thinking of starting a few because of the low/no fees and automatic investment of dividends to purchase more shares over time. I'm talking about typical DRIP champions over history like JNJ, KO, K, CLX, MMM, WMT, etc. Do you like them? or Why Not? Most of my money is i...

Re: ERE City (US)
I hear you, it will be hard to leave a bit city area initially. I've lived in big areas for twenty years while saving money the entire time and living frugally.
