I think PBR is so unhip that hipsters have declared it hip. Ironically hip if you will.

Re: Dealing with casual insults from family

Stop any discussion of money/finances around them. Keep it polite, but firmly out of bounds for discussion.

Re: I want to start a nano-brewery...

Best of luck. I like your entrepreneurial spirit. I would caution that nano breweries are pretty trendy right now. Who knows if they will stay that way. Gentrifying neighborhoods and disposable income that can support $6/16 oz pricing can be likened to bubbles supported by a growing and healthy econ...

I find mig & flux core overkill for small jobs. There's too much waste with spools rusting.

Sclass's hoe is A+ compared to most others.
Any hoe that you can take home to your mom's house and leave there is gotta be A+.

Friends, family, partner. People rather than things, money, or experiences are the most satisfying interactions to me.

I've seen several carpenter bees (look like bumble bees but bore into soft woods).

Also, I have a couple of pepper plants and a cherry tomato plant planted.

It will never happen, BUT, if all the subsidies went away - employer provided plans, tax breaks, ACA subsidies, medicare, medicaid, health insurance in general, tax exemptions on premiums, HSAs, FSAs, all of it - I'd be willing to bet prices would come way down. As examples, look at 2 procedures tha...

Another point in favor of single payer is that businesses would love to not be responsible for healthcare insurance. Especially, small businesses. Some would. Others view offering good benefits as a way to recruit and especially retain good employees. I'd guess most employers would still want to of...

Subdivision roads are privately built. Developers get their money back when they sell the lots. Interstates are paid for with public moneys. Gas tax, wheel tax, vehicle registrations, property tax, ROW fees paid by utilities, telecoms, etc all pay for upkeep/widening of roads that are built to specs...

When I was young, you had to be 24 (or 25?) to rent a car. Not sure of Olaz's age or if this is still a requirement. Worth looking into so you don't get waylaid at the last minute.

Re: You only live once - help

I grew up in a mostly black neighborhood. Stuck out pretty vividly at times. Went to a birthday party down the street when I was about 8 yrs old. It took me a lot of years to realize why all the other kids were calling me 'Whitey' that day. I was sort of oblivious at times.

They aren't too expensive if your insurance covers them. Just makes insurance more expensive for everybody so that addicted folks can get a buzz and can go to insurance covered rehab. Just pointing out part of the reason for costs going up/health going down.

Re: Who'd a thunk it? Obamacare not repealed

For the record, I was talking about legal (prescription) opioids. And there is a legitimate place for them, but abuse leads to addiction. Pill mills are a big part of the problem. Not trying to start an debate over opioid use, but when prescriptions for it are that out of control, there is a definit...
